Jingcheonggak is assumed to have been constructed in 1601when the supreme local government office of Gyeongsang-do located in Andong was moved to Daegu together with Seonwhadang. It was a sort of official residence of provincial governor. The present building was reconstructed in 1789 after being set alight twice in 1730.

From then, it was re-developed as Jungang Park in 1970. After being repaired in 1997, its name has been changed to Gyeongsang Gamyeong Park. Jingcheonggak is located in a place behind a small bridge - Hongyegyo which is in the rear left side of Seonhwadang. This building is 8 kans across the front and 4 kans along the sides with a floor made of long planks covered by rails like a loft.
